Day 197

I received devotional reading from Socality this morning. It's about 'The Faith Adventure'.
Here are parts that changed my whole day (and week):

Eternal One: Abram, get up and go! Leave your country. Leave your relatives and your father’s home, and travel to the land I will show you. Don’t worry—I will guide you there. I have plans to make a great people from your descendants. And I am going to put a special blessing on you and cause your reputation to grow so that you will become a blessing and example to others. I will also bless those who bless you and further you in your journey, and I’ll trip up those who try to trip you along the way. Through your descendants, all of the families of the earth will find their blessing in you.
— Genesis 12:1-3 (The Voice)

Talk about an unbelievable promise, if God spoke to me like that, I’d say “but why? What have I done to deserve this amazing privilege?” The similarity to the grace we receive when we first trust in the promise of God is obvious. God says to us, leave that old country (our past lives) and move to a new country of grace.

Relationships are forged over time, through seasons and adventures, as we open our hearts and lives to the promises of God. His heart is towards us, our “why?” and “I don’t deserve this” turn into praise and thanksgiving. Like Abraham, we’re going to try and take control from time to time, and fail. But as we looked at in Chapter One, we need to know that He called us first and has now placed a promise on our lives that we’ve not earned, we just need to learn to receive it everyday.

Let's receive the gift of amazing grace and enter the faith adventure.
