Day 250

Today we are celebrating the greatest act of humility, the remarkable evidence of love, the fulfilment of prophecies, and the beginning of hope and reconciliation.

One of my favourite Christmas songs is, without a doubt, 'O Holy Night'. I especially love its lyrics for it perfectly describes the birth of Jesus as a momentous event in history. Before that night, before God appeared as a little baby, the world had long laid in sin and error pining. The birth of Jesus became a thrill of hope for the weary world. With such glorious joy, how could we not fall on our knees?

Throughout His life, Jesus taught us to love one another. There hasn't been any figure on earth whose teaching is like Jesus'. His law is love and His gospel is peace. Chains shall be broken, oppression shall cease and we are no more slaves because of Jesus. This is real Good News. This is what Christmas is all about. And this good news is for everyone, no matter what their religions or beliefs are. Isn't God generous?

Whether or not you celebrate Christmas, I pray that indescribable hope and inexpressible peace will find you wherever you are, cause your weary heart to rejoice, restore your faith, and multiply your joy.

Glory to the newborn King!
