Day 217

Weddings are wonderful celebration of holy covenant. As a Christian, I believe there's something sacred about this union, because not only a man unites with his wife for as long as they live, but it also illustrates the love Christ has for the church. It gives me chills whenever I think about this picturesque image.

Spirituality aside, I have this big NO NO for some overused wedding songs. I don't know when I will get married, but if I do, these songs will be "banned" completely during the ceremony and the reception (LOL!):
- The Prayer
- A Thousand Years
- I Finally Found Someone
- Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You
- Endless Love
- My Valentine
- All Of Me

Don't get me wrong, those are good love songs but they've been used for so many times that they have started losing their magic. So, yeah, I'll make sure those songs are excluded in the playlist! Ha-ha.

For my wedding day (one day), I have found a perfect song to play. I have listened to this song since I was little because my mother loved to listen and sing it. When I grew older, I became more in love with the song after studying the lyrics closely. Today, at church, I didn't expect to hear this song being played during the offering. And to my surprise, my tears started falling down. There are so much truth and grace in the lyrics that I really want my future wedding as well as my marriage to reflect these elements.

I encourage you to check out the lyrics and see why it touches my heart so deeply.

The song is called How Beautiful by Twila Paris.

How beautiful the radiant bride /
Who waits for her groom with His light in her eyes /
How beautiful when humble hearts give /
The fruit of pure lives so that others may live /

How beautiful the feet that bring /
The sound of good news and the love of the King /
How beautiful the hands that serve /
The wine and the bread and the sons of the earth /

How beautiful, how beautiful /
How beautiful is the body of Christ //

I'll make sure I won't sob too hard when that day arrives. :')
