Day 219

On our road trip to Portland, Oregon last weekend, I was mesmerised by the majestic mountain scenery. It's amazing to see how evergreen this part of USA was, even during the winter. Just like typical millennials, the first thing I did when looking at such beauty was to quickly grab my camera or smartphone and take heaps of photos. Sadly, most of the pictures I took were blurry (my sister must have driven the car real fast!) so I decided to take video instead. While video-recording the trip, I suddenly got distracted.

Why am I doing this? Why is it that the first thing I'll do when I encounter a beautiful moment or thing is grabbing my camera instead of enjoying it to the fullest extent?

I put down my camera willy nilly. It didn't do a great job capturing the scenery in high definition, anyway. I learned to restrain my impulse to take pictures so I could really bask in the wondrous view. It made me realised. . .

Real beauties are difficult to capture and impossible to forget.

Thank you for letting me savour this priceless moment, Upper Left America.
