Day 149

Today I joined a little contest on Instagram for fun. It's by a highly gifted illustrator named Sam Larson. He wrote, to join this contest, we must create a piece of art showing our favourite place we’ve never been; the art must be created now through September 16th (short notice, huh?); and the post must include the name of the the place we’ve never been.

I haven't really drawn anything in the last few days so I was excited to finally find something to draw. At first, I wanted to draw 'Azerbaijan' because I am always interested to go there (the name itself sounds intriguing, doesn't it?). But I wasn't satisfied with my final drawing so I had another place in mind that recently caught my attention: 'Cheakamus Lake' in British Columbia. It has stellar natural view!

Before I got to make a painting of it, I stumbled upon another majestic lake in Canada, which is 'Maligne Lake'. I realised I have once drawn that lake before (see: Day 102 post) but I didn't know where it was that I drew. Tonight, I made another piece of art of 'Maligne Lake' and posted it on Instagram to give the contest a shot. I hope Sam Larson noticed it. He-he.

I have tons of favourite places I have never been to. I guess, most of those are located in Canada and the Scandinavia. It's a pity traveling costs a fortune and demands physical fitness. I know it's not impossible to see the world in person one day. Until then, I can only draw and paint. . . and manage this wanderlust.
