Day 133

I think I've been blogging since my teenage years and throughout college. Before this one, I called my old blog 'The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows'. How naive of me. Well, I still am. I have 'shut down' that seven-year-old blog (or more like, let it hibernate) for an indefinite amount of time, but I can still access to my old posts.

I found a post that made me giggle. I decided to re-post it with a few revisions (yeah, I am too lazy to contemplate any topic today—besides, questions help to prompt some contemplation, right?).

Original post was titled "21 things...you probably haven't known"
posted on Tuesday, April 10, 2012

What's more random than answering twenty one questions when you've just turned twenty one? I read these questions on Sherwood Baptist's website and thought it'd be fun to answer...
((gosh, I am twenty four now! I thought I could be forever-21?!))

My favourite character in the Bible is:
besides Jesus? The 4 dudes: Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
((well yeah these guys are still pretty awesome, but now I admire Job))

My life verse is:
haven't read the whole book yet but Hebrews 12:1-3 have been persistently encouraging.
((gosh, so many great verses. . . Acts 20:24 it is now))

If I could ask God one question it would be:
"What's Your favourite worship song that's ever composed?" Ok, that's silly, since You obviously helped the composer to write it for You.... but I'm still wondering.
((yep, I'm still going to ask that question. Ha-ha))

Nobody knows that I:
find eating stressful.
((in relation to that answer, one of my biggest 'shallow' fears is becoming fat))

I'm happiest when:
I'm with my family, and when we could make other people or guests at our house feel at home.
((can't say I have a different answer for that))

The one book (besides the Bible) I'd recommend to anyone is:
My Utmost for His Highest. I think that's the only book I've read more than twice.
((definitely 'Love Does' by Bob Goff))

My last meal would be:
I guess Thai or Italian or Korean food would be fine.
((my last meal on earth would be anything with pork. LOL! I am a Batak girl, come on))

I'm most excited about:
storytelling or promoting values and concepts through art or video, watching live music show, hosting event (especially if it gathers everyone), and...personality quizzes!
((wow I'm impressed with my 21-year-old self for giving such timeless answer, no changes for this one))

My trademark expression is:
err... My mom or sis would know.
((and my sister said, my trademark phrase is "apa sih!?"))

The team I root for most is:
Spain national football team. They'll win again this year and in 2014 fosho.
((si, amigos))

My proudest moment is:
living abroad.
((and driving my car for the first time))

If I could, I’d:
speak very well and clearly especially about the gospel, be successful doing what I love and what I'm good at for the rest of my life without being bored or tired of it, have the ability of telekinesis, and touch the clouds!
((amen!))

The one blog I read regularly is:
Jon Acuff's.
((guess what? I still do! He is a good writer))

I could eat:
when I'm hungry.
((hah!))

What's on my iPod:
songs that you probably won't hear on any radio in Jakarta.
((I play songs more on Spotify thesedays. . . My playlist at the moment plays: Peter Sarstedt, Bleachers, Shane & Shane, Fleet Foxes, Jon Foreman, James Bay, Nathan Angelo))

My perfect day would be:
to wake up early without feeling sleepy and realise people I admire on Twitter retweeted me, have Thai food for brunch, yes, in Melbourne, catch up with best friends and the conversation somehow leads to Christ (it'd be even more perfect if they eventually come to faith), meet friendly dogs on the street, rub a farm horse's face (ok, this is random but they're so cute!), go out for dinner and movie with family, see a good-looking sunset, then watch acoustic live performances by Jon Foreman, Mat Kearney, Ben Abraham, etc (including meet and greet) on the rooftop under the starry sky with my favourite people, and lastly, get a huge warm hug before bed, read inspiring devotional reading, watch Community till I fall asleep. Does that sound perfect?
((oh, younger Winda, you were such a daydreamer, weren't you? For now, my perfect day would still involve an energised body, friendly cuddly dogs or horses, good food, good friends, good conversation, quality time with the family, good movie or music performance with a special beau, beautiful sunset, warm hug, big smile, full heart, restful sleep))

My pet peeve is:
people who are not humble and not generous. Oh, also slow computer and internet connection.
((yeah those things stink...plus, loud chewers!))

My favourite childhood memory is:
watching Disney's.
((and having not much stuff to worry about))

In my free time, I:
contemplate while listening to music until I fall asleep.
((ditto))

My favourite TV shows are:
The Office, Community, How I Met Your Mother.
((now includes Sherlock and Gilmore Girls))

If I could do it over again, I:
would be nicer to my siblings when I was younger, spend more time with friends in Melbourne, meet more people, read more books, drink more water, have more working experiences, and procrastinate less in uni.
((I also would take another year of undergrad study so my Bachelor degree would be equivalent to the US education, and continue my French lesson))

That's all folks! *insert Looney Tunes jingle here*

Looks like nothing much has changed since three years ago. . . :)
I loved 2012, and being 21.
Thank you for 'wasting' your time (5-ish minutes) getting to know me!

((P.S.: if you are filling out this too with your answers, send me the link so I can get to know whoever you are))
